Low Cost Holidays in West Wales

I've recently bought a smallholding near Newcastle Emlyn in North West Carmarthenshire to set up an exciting permaculture based project. Unfortunately there has been an unforeseen delay in getting started. While things are being resolved I can offer space for camping, and self-catering accommodation in the house, to friends and supporters.

The house and land isn't up to the standards of a high quality holiday venue, and the prices reflect this, so it's the ideal place for a low cost holiday in a friendly, pleasant and convenient location.

Due to the problem I am dealing with at the moment, it's best not to advertise the precise location, but it's about 2 miles from Newcastle Emlyn. There's nothing secretive about it, but it's best not to link my plans to the address in public while the problem is being resolved. I'm quite happy to bore visitors to death talking about it!

  • 10-15 miles from the West Wales coast
  • Close to National Woollen Museum, Teifi Valley Railway, West Wales Museum of Childhood
  • Easy access to Preseli Hills
  • On main Carmarthen to Cardigan bus route
  • Close to pleasant market town of Newcastle Emlyn

Facilities

Tents and small motorhomes*

  • Use of kitchen and bathroom in house
  • Shower, washing machine and use of oven in kitchen at additional cost
  • Broadband available (wired in house, and wireless in parts of field)
  • No electric hookups, but power available in the house for your chargers
  • Friendly dogs welcome

£5 per tent/van per night

* Small caravans may be accommodated, but please discuss before booking, due to limited space and access.

Rooms in House

  • Two ground floor rooms available in the house, each with a double bed
  • Shared use of kitchen for self-catering
  • Washing machine available at additional cost
  • Please bring your own bedding
  • Broadband available
  • Friendly dogs welcome (one room available for dogs, the other kept dog free)
  • No smoking in house

£15 per room per night suggested.

There is ongoing work on the house, although nothing will be done to disturb your visit. Prices have been set to reflect the current position, so if you think I'm undercharging because improvements have been made, you're welcome to pay more, or a little less if things aren't quite as you expected.

Booking

To make a booking, or for more information, please e-mail the address below, phone 07908 406197, or leave a message on 01559 371178 (checked daily).

I'm also looking for lodgers, for long or short term stays. I would like to let the rooms to like minded people who share the aims of the project and want to get involved, but until I know what the outcome of the current problem will be, I can't say what the future of the site will be, so it's difficult attracting the right people. If you're interesting in living here, please get in touch.
